Press Control Space and Desks suggests tilings for the windows on your screen, previews each one right over them, and glides them into place.
Control Space The panel
Desks looks at how many windows you have open, which apps they are and the shape of your display, and suggests the tilings that suit them: your editor in the big tile, the terminal in the narrow one, quarters for four, up to a grid. It remembers what you pick. Your desks and every other layout are a row away.
Up to four tilings for the windows on your screen, each a picture of the screen it makes, the apps in their tiles. Over an app in full screen too.
Arrow to a tiling, or point at it, and glass footprints show where every window would land, live over your windows.
One key, or the tiling’s number, and the windows glide there. Shift Return keeps the panel open for the next. Escape puts them back.
Type to find a desk, a layout, any command or any window. ⌘K lists everything Desks does, each with its key.
Tile, snap, switch
Tile a whole display at once, snap one window to a half, or bring back a desk of apps exactly as you left it. All from the keyboard, and every move can be undone.
One key puts every window on the display into tiles shaped for how many there are: halves for two, a main and two for three, quarters for four, up to a grid.

A desk is a named set of apps pinned to tiles, remembered for every display setup. It opens apps that aren’t running and brings back minimized or hidden windows, and never hides, minimizes or closes anything else.
Control Option Tab goes to the next desk.
Desks borrows the plain keys until Escape: a ring goes round the window you’re in, and a glass legend shows what each key does. The arrows go to the next window, Shift trades places with it, and Option pushes an edge.
A new window takes the next tile. One that closes or minimizes lets its neighbors close up, and one you drag out floats until you put it back.
Type what you want in the panel and Apple Intelligence arranges it, on this Mac. Save it as a desk right from the toast.

The first time Desks opens, you try every key on a practice desktop of pretend windows, while nothing you have open moves. Then your first desk is saved on Control 1.
Control Option Z undoes whatever Desks moved last, again and again, and every change leaves a note with the way back.
Shortcuts, desks:// links and a desks command-line tool apply desks and layouts, tile, snap and undo.
Desks moves windows with Accessibility. Thumbnails are drawn from your wallpaper and app icons, never your screen.
Reduce Motion and Reduce Transparency are respected, and everything works from the keyboard and with VoiceOver.
Tilings that fit your screen, desks that remember it, and a key for everything.
