Desks1. Who we are
Desks is made by Caffeinated Code d.o.o., a company in Sisak, Croatia (“we”, “us”). These terms cover the Desks app and this website, getdesks.app. By downloading or using Desks you agree to them; if you don’t, don’t use it.
2. The free trial
Desks is free for 14 days, with every feature and no payment details. When the trial ends without a purchase, Desks pauses: arranging, snapping, applying desks, rules, hints and the Shortcuts and Terminal commands that arrange windows stop, and Desks says why. Your settings, desks and layouts stay on your Mac, and you can still change them, so buying picks up where you left off.
3. Buying Desks
You buy Desks inside Desks: Buy Desks opens Paddle’s checkout in your browser. Desks is sold by our reseller, Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”), the merchant of record for every order. Paddle takes the payment, charges any sales tax or VAT, and issues your receipt and invoice, and Paddle’s Buyer Terms apply to the purchase.
Prices on this site are in US dollars; the checkout shows the price in your currency, with tax where it applies. A launch price is shown with its last day. You pay once: it isn’t a subscription, and nothing renews.
4. Your license
When you buy Desks, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Desks 1 on all the Macs you own or control, for personal or professional use. Desks 1 is version 1.0 and every 1.x update.
Your purchase belongs to you, through your iCloud account, not to one Mac: Desks unlocks on each Mac signed in to that account. Bought on a Mac without iCloud, it stays with that Mac; for another of yours, write to us and we can unlock it there. The license is yours alone; anyone else who uses Desks needs their own.
5. Updates and Desks 2
Desks 1 includes every 1.x update we release, at no charge. A future major version, such as Desks 2, would be a separate, paid upgrade: this purchase doesn’t include it, and we don’t promise there will be one.
6. What you may not do
You may not resell, rent, lend, sublicense or redistribute Desks or your purchase, share your purchase with other people, get around the trial or the purchase check, or reverse-engineer, decompile or modify Desks, except where the law allows it whatever these terms say.
7. Refunds
Paddle handles refunds under its refund policy; Refunds explains how to ask. A purchase that’s refunded or charged back no longer unlocks Desks, which pauses as it does after the trial, once the trial’s 14 days are over.
8. Your privacy
Desks arranges your windows on your Mac and sends nothing about them anywhere. What does leave your Mac, and why, is on Privacy.
9. Other software
Desks includes open-source components, each under its own license. Those licenses, not these terms, govern those components.
10. No warranty
We work to make Desks reliable, but it’s provided “as is”: as far as the law allows, we don’t promise that it’s free of errors or works with every app, display or version of macOS. Nothing here limits the guarantees consumer law gives you.
11. Liability
As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid for Desks in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. This doesn’t limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t let us limit.
12. Ending
Your license lasts as long as you keep to these terms. If you break them, it ends and you must stop using Desks. You can stop using Desks at any time by deleting it.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date at the top says when they last changed. The terms in force when you bought Desks keep applying to that purchase, unless the law says otherwise.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Croatia, and disputes go to the courts of Sisak, Croatia. If you’re a consumer, you keep the protection of the law where you live, and you can also bring a claim in the courts there.
